Red Cross Foundation Day was celebrated at Motherhood University, Roorkee with great enthusiasm and in a dignified atmosphere. On this occasion, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Narendra Sharma, in his inspiring address, stated that Red Cross volunteers have set an ideal before society by embracing service, dedication, and human values. Director of Administration, Mr. Deepak Sharma, in his speech, emphasized that activities such as blood donation, first aid, health education, and disaster management have become essential needs of the present time.
The event commenced with an address by the Registrar of the University, Mr. Ajay Gopal Sharma, who shared his personal experiences during the Bhuj earthquake while reflecting on the theme “In Favor of Humanity.” He noted that organizations like the Red Cross not only prepare us during disasters but also empower us to help others.
Red Cross In-charge, Prof. (Dr.) Mukesh Chandra Sharma, highlighted the history, principles, and functioning of the Red Cross, describing it as a symbol of selfless service and human welfare.
On this occasion, Assistant In-charge Dr. Subedar Singh, Mr. Rajat Kumar, Ms. Himani Sharma, Ms. Seema, and all the Red Cross volunteers were present. Through the Red Cross anthem, the volunteers reaffirmed their commitment to service.
